Last week I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the upcoming Taste of Petaluma Festival which is coming up on Saturday, August 24th, from 11.30am to 4pm. For $40, you get ten tasting “tickets” which you can redeem at one of over 50 restaurants and food purveyors all over town.
From Rosso to the Bovine Bakery, Three Twins Ice Cream to Lydia’s Organics, you can roam around downtown and fill yourself to the gills no matter whether you’re a dairy maid or gluten-free guy!
I got a sneak preview at Petaluma’s newest wine bar, Corkscrew, which was recently opened by Basha Quilici who is finally fulfilling her life-long dream of owning a wine bar. She served us yummy pulled pork sandwiches followed by chocolate truffles, and gave us a briefing on the wines they have on tap – including an interesting-looking unfiltered rose.
They serve a range of panini sandwiches and salads at lunchtime and some great charcuterie and light meals through the evening. The good news is that Corkscrew stays open until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays – making it a great place to stop by after a movie.
